What We Do

— Assessment

We conduct root cause analysis through community surveys, key informant interviews, focus groups, and secondary data analysis to define the problems, and identify the Blacks/African Americans, minorities, and vulnerable populations in Southern California felt family health needs towards their strategic and sustainable resolution.

—Awareness

We create awareness of couple/marriage, parenting, breastfeeding and nutritional, genetic and contraceptive/family planning counseling and support services, and available healthcare and social services.

— Advocacy

We advocate for new policies and laws that will ensure social justice, equitable access, and removal of structural and systemic bias/barriers against Blacks/African Americans, minorities and vulnerable populations in Southern California.

— Action

We advance Blacks/African Americans, minorities and vulnerable populations family health through:
• Couple and Parenting Counselling & Referrals
• Genetics Counselling & Referrals
• Family Planning & Contraceptive Counselling & Referrals
• Nutritional & Breastfeeding Counselling, Referrals, and Support Services.

We support Blacks/African Americans, minorities and vulnerable populations in Southern California organizations to achieve their visions and missions, providing health and empowering services to minorities and vulnerable populations.

CFHI provides community-driven research, education, advocacy, and support services to improve family health and economic well-being in Southern California. With a vision of healthy people in healthy communities, CFHI’s mission centers on protecting, promoting, and restoring minority health through people-first approaches.

Our Projects

Attend and support relevant programs.

Contributed to state and county initiatives dedicated to minority populations, supporting both minority-led and minority-focused organizations, to ensure inclusive participation and address specific needs within diverse communities effectively.

Attend and support relevant events.

Engaged in national and global gatherings to advocate for the minority populations, backing the movement of minority-led and minority-focused organizations, fostering inclusivity and promoting equitable representation on a broader scale.
