CFHI at ICA Annual Dinner and Awards Night

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the Center for Health and Future Innovation (CFHI) joined the Igbo Community Association (ICA) of Southern California in celebrating excellence, service, and leadership at the association’s Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony.

The evening was not only a time to honor outstanding community members but also to witness a significant leadership transition – from the outgoing executive team to the newly elected leaders who will officially assume office on January 1, 2026.

The event was richly attended by Nigerians of Igbo descent and friends of the community. Guests enjoyed inspiring speeches, moments of reflection, lively cultural displays, traditional music, energetic dances, and a delicious array of authentic Nigerian cuisine that brought everyone together in true Igbo spirit.

One of the key highlights of the evening was the presentation of awards and certificates recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed meaningfully to the growth and well-being of the community. CFHI Chairperson, Dr Angela Ofoegbu was honoured with an award for her outstanding contributions to ICA.

Yours truly was also honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation for volunteerism and engagement in several community-based initiatives, including the ICA Igbo Day Commemoration and Youth Camp, where we provided health education, drug awareness, and training on Narcan use to help prevent opioid overdose.

It was truly a memorable and inspiring night – a celebration of culture, unity, and service. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the award recipients and wish the incoming ICA Executive Team great success as they lead the association to new heights in the coming year.
